NCTRC to Attend Annual Case Management Conference
NCTRC is continuously searching for effective ways to market the CTRS credential. As part of this effort, NCTRC will be attending conferences outside of the field of TR/RT in order to promote the CTRS credential to various employment sectors. This June, NCTRC will be attending The Case Management Society of America Annual Conference from June 17-20, 2008 in Orlando, Florida. The CMSA Annual Conference & Expo is the largest case management event of the year and an excellent opportunity for NCTRC to connect with over 3000 case managers who are often involved in critical decisions about client services and care. Case managers help identify appropriate providers and facilities throughout the continuum of services, while ensuring that available resources are being used in a timely and cost-effective manner in order to obtain optimum value for both the client and the reimbursement source. It is critical that case managers possess accurate knowledge of the TR/RT process and the value of the CTRS credential. Please contact NCTRC if you plan to attend the CMSA Annual Conference & Expo. It would be great to have additional people at the NCTRC booth to answer questions and share the experiences of a CTRS. For additional information: CMSA Annual Conference and Expo

New Academic Path Option
NCTRC has established a new application path option: Academic Path – Application Prior to Degree Completion. This path option was created in order to assist students applying for the NCTRC exam by shortening the wait time associated with obtaining the CTRS credential. The new path option permits new graduates to apply and sit for the exam prior to the completion of their degree and/or internship. The applicant must meet specific eligibility requirements including the completion of all required coursework. For more information on this new path option, visit the NCTRC website.

New Pre-Application Review Process
The Pre-Application Coursework Review is a new program designed to provide preliminary feedback to potential applicants regarding previously completed coursework. The new process will provide early confirmation to individuals who are not certain if their completed coursework will count towards NCTRC Eligibility. The application form and specific criteria can be found at the NCTRC website.

NCTRC 2007 Job Analysis
The 2007 NCTRC Job Analysis has been completed and integrated into the NCTRC certification process. A major outcome of the 2007 Job Analysis was the development of a new NCTRC Exam Content Outline. The new exam outline became effective with the May 2008 Exam. Review a copy of the current Exam Content Outline.
